What is COMPUTER network?

A COMPUTER NETWORK CONSIST OF TWO OR MORE COMPUTERS THAT ARE CONNECTED TOGETHER TO COMMUNICATE  AND SHARE DATA AND RESOURCES WITH EACH OTHERTHE RESOURCES MAY INCLUDE PRINTERS,SCANEERS ETC.

ADAVATAGES OF NETWORK:

                                               People can save a lot of money  by using the same software over a network  instead of purchasing  the copy of software for each user.

4)  Data Security & Management:

                                                                                                        A network can manage the company critical data in better way. Data can be centralized on shared server instead  of storing it on different computers. It become easier for the administrator to take backup of data regularly. Security can be implemented easily .

5)  Internet Access Sharing:

                                                                     Small computer network allows multiple users to share a single internet connection. Special hardware devices allocate the bandwidth of connection to various individuals. An organization purchase one high speed internet connection instead of many slower ones.

Disadvantages of network:

Some important disadvantages of network are as follow

1.     Hardware ,Software &setup cost:

                                                                                          Setting up a network required an investement in hardware ,software, planning ,designing and implementation the network.

2.    Hardware & Software Management cost:

                                                                                                                                             Managing a network is complicated ,it requires training .a network manager usually need to be employed . in a big organization , a network administrator is hired .

3.    Undesirable sharing :

                                                                                 Networking allows the sharing of undesirable data.Virus are easily spread over networks and the internet.

4.    Illegal and undesirable Behaviour:   

                                                                                                                       Networks can be used for abuse of company resources ,downloading of illegal materials and software privacy .larger organization manage it with policies and monitoring .
